After the interval, an unforced error from Yiu helped Prannoy take a 13-12 lead. Prannoy capitalised on the opportunity and went on to win the game 21-19.

In the decider too there wasn’t much to separate both the players initially. From 7-7, Yiu managed to slighly move ahead and entered the interval with a 11-8 lead.

From then on, the unseeded player from Hong Kong managed to stay ahead. Prannoy tried to fightback but he couldn’t control the errors from his end as Yiu went on to win the contest and advanced to the quarterfinal.
