Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 is around the corner and the official scrimmage session, BGIS 2023 The Grind is set to kick off on July 20, 2023, with 256 invited teams from the inaugural season of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series.
The 256 invited teams are divided into two parts of 128 each, and these teams will compete in different weeks. The first 128 teams will compete in Week 1, while the second will compete in Week 2. There are a total of 5 weeks. During these weeks, a large number of teams will be eliminated, at the end of the event, we will have only 64 teams remaining.
The Grind Week 1 Schedule

The top eight teams from each group will move on to the next round.
BGIS 2023 The Grind Full Format
256 teams were divided into two groups of 128 teams each.
- Week 1: The first 128 teams will compete, and the top 64 will advance to Week 3.
- Week 2 will feature the next 128 teams, with 64 qualifying for Week 4.
There are now 128 teams remaining.
- Week 3: The first 64 teams will compete, with 32 qualifying for Week 5.
- Week 4 will feature the next 64 teams, with 32 qualifying for Week 5.
Finally, in Week 5, the remaining 64 teams will compete.
BGIS 2023 will start after The Grind is over. This time, The Grind is different and bigger as underdog teams from BGIS’s first season got an invite to the event. BGIS 2023 The Grind will set the stage for the first major event of Battlegrounds Mobile India after its unban in the country.
