A day after reports claimed KL Rahul will miss the Asia Cup 2023, the batter gave out a strong message with a video of him batting in the nets. The star batter who has been out of the cricketing action since May, gave his fans a sweet surprise as he shared an Instagram story of him sweating it out in the nets.

Notably, this is KL Rahul’s first batting session since surgery after injuring his hamstring in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season.
Rahul had surgery in London, and since then, he has been receiving rehabilitation at Bangalore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Rahul nursing back to fitness comes out as a great news for Team India with the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup coming up later this year.
Jasprit Bumrah to return in Ireland series
Earlier, Cricbuzz reported that Jasprit Bumrah has regained fitness and is set to be part of the Ireland T20I series.
“Bumrah is expected to be selected for the Ireland series. The India spearhead has shown significant progress in recent times”, Cricbuzz reported.
No timeline on Shreyas Iyer’s comeback
Meanwhile, there is no timeline on Shreyas Iyer’s return but the player and the selectors are hopefull for a comeback soon.

“There is no guarantee if Shreyas Iyer will be available, but KL Rahul has no chance of featuring not only in the Ireland series but also in the Asia Cup 2023. Rahul is currently undergoing rehab at the NCA and, according to the latest information, he is yet to start batting”, reports on Cricbuzz further added.
Notably, Chief selector Ajit Agarkar will travel to West Indies to discuss the squad with skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid before making the final decision.
