Take a bow Jaiswal! Dressing room gives standing ovation after Dominica dominance

Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal broken the record for the highest score by an Indian batter on debut in an overseas Test.

Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal debut innings came to an end on Day 3 of the 1st Test between India and West Indies. The left-handed batter was scalped by pacer Alzarri Joseph as he missed a famous double century by 21 runs. Despite missing the milestone, the Southpaw got an standing ovation from his teammates and fans witnessing the match from the venue.

Jaiswal’s innings included 16 fours and one maximum

Coming to bat on Day 3, Jaiswal soon completed his 150 to achieve another milestone. After that, Jaiswal looked more aggressive with the bat as he tonked Warrican for his first Test maximum. However, he fell soon after trying to steer a delivery from Joseph but could only manage to get a thin edge which was pouched safely by Joshua Da Silva. During his innings of 387 deliveries, the left-handed batter stroked 16 fours and one maximum.

To note, Jaiswal had already broken the record for the highest score by an Indian batter on debut in an overseas Test when he went past the 131 made by Sourav Ganguly in his first match for India in the longest format of the game against England at Lord’s.

He also became the first Indian batter to score 150 on his debut in an overseas Test. The left-handed batter will be keen to get a chance in the second innings as well as he will try to wow fans with his majestic batting once again.
