India Tour of South Africa to start on December 10, BCCI RELEASES Full Schedule

The all-format series will be held across six venues- Durban, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, Centurion, Paarl, and Cape Town.

The BCCI on Friday released the India Tour of South Africa schedule. India will play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches. The tour begins with 3-match T20I series, starting on December 10 followed by 3 ODIs. It concludes with a 2-match Test series starting on December 26.

The all-format series will be conducted across six venues – Durban, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, Centurion, Paarl, and Cape Town.

The 1st T20I will be played in Durban. Meanwhile, the 2nd and 3rd T20Is are scheduled to be held in Gquberha and Johannesburg, respectively.

The first two ODIs, as well as the final ODI, will take place at Gquberha and Johannesburg. The team will move to Paarl for final ODI.

South Africa’s iconic cities, Centurion and Cape Town, will host the 2-match Test series.

In the press release, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah talked about the schedule and said that the Boxing Day Test and the New Year Test will intense contest.

“The Freedom Series is significant not just because it features two excellent Test teams, but also because it honours Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, two great leaders who shaped our respective nations, and the world around them”, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a statement.”

The Boxing Day Test and the New Year Test are amongst the most important fixtures on the international cricket calendar and the schedule has been planned particularly around these marquee dates. India has always received strong support in South Africa, and I am confident that fans will be treated to some enthralling contests with no shortage of intensity”, he added.
