Lakshya Sen was not been at his best right from the start of the season. The former World No.6’s poor show at the start of the season saw him slip out of the Top 20 in the rankings.

Last month at the Thailand Open, he made it until the semifinal. This propelled him back into the Top 20 ahead of the Canada Open. At Canada he was at his best as he defeated World No.4 Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the very first round. He then won against higher-ranked opponents like Kenta Nishimoto and Li hi Feng to lift his first BWF title this season. It was also his career’s second BWF 500 title.

PV Sindhu too jumped three spots to go up to World No.12 in the Women’s Singles. Sindhu reached the semifinal at the Canada Open. Sindhu is the only Indian within the top 30 as Saina Nehwal slipped down to 31st in the rankings.

HS Prannoy meanwhile went down one place. He is currently at the World No.9 spot. Men’s Doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continue to remain at the third spot in the rankings.
