WATCH Shafali Verma pick 3 wickets in 5 balls as India win IND W vs BAN W 2nd T20I

Harmanpreet Kaur and Co have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series.

IND W vs BAN W: Shafali Verma’s last over heroics helped Indian Women’s Cricket Team defend 96 in the IND W vs BAN W 2nd T20I in Dhaka. Despite a poor outing on the field with the bat, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side managed to pull off a 8-run win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series.

All-rounder Shafali Verma was the star with the ball as her 20th over brought 4 wickets for India, including a run-out.

10 off 6 ball in 20th over – How it all unfolded?

Bangladesh looked favourites going into the final over with 10 required off 6 balls. However, an ambitious second run in the very first ball led to wickets galore.

Earlier, India were restricted to 95/8 in 20 overs. Shafali Verma was the top scorer with 19 as the whole batting unit just faltered on a tricky pitch.

Defending 96, India needed to find early wickets and it came in the first over. India then kept taking wickets in regular intervals to keep themselves in the game. Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana played a brilliant knock of 38 but her dismissal in the 19th over turned the game India’s way.

India will now play Bangladesh in 3rd T20I on Thursday, July 13 in Dhaka.
