Bayern Munich submit improved £70 million bid for Spurs Captain Harry Kane

Bayern Munich submits a new €80 million plus bonuses proposal for Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane after their initial €70 million offer was turned down.

Bayern Munich has made a second written proposal for Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane. The initial offer of €70 million plus incentives was rejected a week ago by the Premier League club. Bayern has now countered with an offer of €80 million plus bonuses.

Tottenham rejected Bayern Munich’s bid of £60 million ($77 million) plus add-ons to sign Harry Kane last month. According to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga winners have returned with an enhanced £70 million ($90 million) offer for the England captain.

If any of the add-ons are activated, Harry Kane would become the most expensive move in Bayern Munich history, exceeding the €80 million paid for Lucas Hernández in the summer of 2019.

Kane has made it apparent in recent weeks that he preferred joining Bayern Munich than staying at Spurs. He has recently reinforced his grip on that choice, informing the club that he wishes to join Bayern immediately.

Kane has been listed as the German giants’ top summer transfer target. They are still looking for a natural replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Barcelona last year.

Kane was viewed as a potential target given that his contract expires in a year, with Premier League rivals Manchester United also intrigued. The Red Devils were forced to relinquish their pursuit of Kane due to Spurs co-owner Daniel Levy’s exorbitant demands.

Bayern then made an initial bid of €70 million (£60 million) with add-ons for the 29-year-old. Spurs rejected it, but it did not dissuade the Germans, who, according to Sky in Germany, have returned with a better proposal of £68 million.
