Who are you? Headingley staff fails to recognise Brendon McCullum, denies entry

England Head Coach Brendon 'Baz' McCullum was stopped from entering Headingley Stadium after a guard failed to recognise the Kiwi.

With the enthralling 3rd Ashes Test match going on at Headingley Stadium, England’s head coach Brendon McCullum was involved in a strange incident. According to a report in The Times UK, Baz was not allowed to enter the stadium by a guard because the coach did not carry his access pass. The incident occurred before the start of the Third Ashes Test, with England trailing 0-2 and McCullum under extreme pressure to win the third match.

“Brendon McCullum, the head coach of the England cricket team, found himself in the tricky position of being refused entry to Headingley before the opening day of the third Ashes Test because he did not have the correct pass,” the report stated.

As per the report, the security guard failed to recognise the Kiwi, due to which the coach had to wait a long time to enter the premises. McCullum eventually lost patience and walked by, telling the guard that he’d have to deal with it.

“The security guard on duty did not recognise McCullum, who tried to argue the toss while the person accompanying the New Zealander pointed out that it was fairly critical to the England team’s chances that he was allowed through.

“There was a short impasse while the guard tried to radio through a superior for advice, and eventually McCullum lost patience and walked through, saying: ‘You’ll just have to deal with it.’,” the report added.

The third Test is poised perfectly, with Australia currently leading England by 142 runs heading into Day 3. The Aussies are have a chance to extend their leave with first innings heroes, Mitch March and Travis Head still in the middle. The partnership is essentialy for the visitor as with only one more batter to come before their long tail. Even in the first innings, Mitch Marsh’s wicket caused a collapse as Australia lost their last six wickets for just 23 runs.
