BCCI media rights for 2023-2027 cycle to get finalised by late August

The existing Star Sports BCCI media rights agreement expired in March 2023.

BCCI Media Rights: The broadcast agreement for games including India for the years 2023–2027 would be finalised by the end of August, according to Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In addition, BCCI wants to finish all necessary purchases before the three-match ODI series against the visiting Australians in September. The existing Star Sports BCCI media rights agreement expired in March 2023.

Before the ODI World Cup, which will start on October 5 and go until November 19, the Indian side is slated to play three one-day matches against the Kangaroos.

Shah also stated that India’s scheduled series against Afghanistan in September has been moved until January of the following year.

Shah added that the Indian cricket squad will compete for gold in both the men’s and women’s divisions at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou later this year.

India intend to take part in the Asian Games 2023. The participation of men’s and women’s teams has received approval from the Apex Council, according to Shah.

He also mentioned that a proposal to rehabilitate 10 out of the 12 stadiums slated to host World Cup games had been prepared by the sports management company Grant Thornton.
