Eight India vs Australia white-ball games confirmed for 2023

In total, India will play Aussies atleast 9 times in coming months including World Cup 2023 clash in Chennai.

Eight India vs Australia white-ball matches have been confirmed for 2023 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The IND vs AUS series before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will also kick-start the tenure of the next BCCI Media rights deal.

Jay Shah confirmed in the latest Apex Council meeting of the Board that the BCCI media rights process would be finished by the end of August.

There will be eight white-ball matches against Australia to begin the agreement. Three One Day Internationals will be played in September as part of the World Cup 2023 preparations.

Five T20I matches will take place in December, shortly following the ODI World Cup. This T20 series will formally start Team India’s preparations for ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

India vs Australia: Also in World Cup 2023

After the ODI series, India vs Australia will also clash in ODI World Cup 2023 in Chennai on October 8.

Two of the finest 50-over teams in the world will square off in an important matchup as they look to get the tournament off to a good start.

On October 8, when India plays its opening World Cup match against Australia, a five-time winner, all eyes will be on Chennai. Rohit Sharma’s team will have their job cut out for them.

There won’t be many shocks because the two teams will be familiar with one another, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see many runs scored in this match.

The tournament hosts’ World Cup campaign would get off to the best possible start with a victory in this match, but Australia will be determined to make a statement and demonstrate that they are competitive contenders to repeat their 1987 World Cup victory on Indian soil.

India may have additional motivation after narrowly losing to Australia at The Oval in London in the ICC World Test Championship Final.
