Despite this, UFC president Dana White has expressed optimism about the fight, saying that he is “100%” hopeful. When asked about McGregor’s eligibility to fight due to USADA regulations, White declined to comment and said that he focuses on the present and not hypothetical situations. He also stated that he is not thinking about future events like UFC 300 and that the outcome of McGregor’s situation remains uncertain.

Robbie Lawler ‘just felt it was time’ to retire

Robbie Lawler has been focused on fighting since he was a teenager, but that will all come to an end after his upcoming bout at UFC 290 against Niko Price. Lawler, a former UFC welterweight champion and soon-to-be UFC Hall of Famer, has announced that he will retire from MMA after this fight, which will be his 47th in a career spanning more than 22 years. Lawler did not have a sudden realization that led to his decision to retire but rather came to the understanding that he was ready to move on from fighting.

“It’s just a feeling I got over time,” Lawler said during UFC 290 media day. “I’ve been doing this a long time, accomplished a lot, just felt it was time.”
