Zaka Ashraf will serve as the chairman of the new 10-member Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, which the Pakistani government has selected for a four-month term.
On Thursday in Lahore, the management committee will hold its inaugural meeting.
Last month, Ashraf was the front-runner to lead the Pakistan Cricket Board, but the PCB was forced to postpone that election when numerous courts throughout the nation questioned the establishment of the board of governors, which chooses the new chairman.

Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana, the Pakistan Cricket Board election commissioner, has been replaced by advocate Mahmood Iqbal Khakwani, who was appointed by the government.
After the Baluchistan High Court approved the plea of Gul Mohammad Kakar, a former member of the PCB management committee, and scheduled a hearing for July 17, the PCB’s election of a new chairman was postponed on June 26.
A 10-member board of governors, which also included two direct nominees from PCB patron and previous chairman Najam Sethi, was constituted before Sethi withdrew from the election.
Then, numerous members of the board of governors were replaced by acting chairman Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana, which led to Kakar’s legal challenge.
Men from minor cities like Dera Murad Jamali, Hyderabad, Larkana, and Bahawalpur took the place of representatives from larger cities like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar.
