After 3 bids were rejected by the London Blues, both clubs have finally reached a £60m deal that will see the 24-year-old advanced midfielder move to Old Trafford for the upcoming season.

As per reports in England, Mason Mount has been given permission from Chelsea to undergo his medical at Manchester United’s Carrington ahead of finalizing his deal with the Red Devils. It is understood that the midfielder will sign a 5-year contract with the Mancunian club.
It has been a difficult start to the transfer window for Manchester United. Mason Mount made it clear that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge ever since the start of the summer. With just a year left on his contract, he was unwilling to continue with the Blues. On the other hand, Chelsea who is all in for an overhaul didn’t wish to let go of their star midfielder for a cheap price.
Chelsea initially rejected 3 previous bids from Man United. However, United instantly started to play hardball and said that their last bid of £55 million remains on the table but only for a small while. In the meantime, United started approaching Brighton’s Moises Ciacedo who has previously been approached by Chelsea.

Manchester United eventually decided that they are not going to overspend on Mount when the player can be available for free the next summer. But, both the clubs then quickly negotiated and a deal of £60m (£55 + 5 mil) was agreed for the player. It is understood that the £5 million ad ons is solely based on appearances and success for the player.
