Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, and several top cricketers are celebrating Eid on June 29. Bakra Eid, also known as Bakri Eid, Eid al-Adha, Eid Qurban, or Qurban Bayarami is observed on this auspicious day. Rashid Khan was the first to extend wishes on Bakri Eid. The Afghan spinner took to Instagram and gave a fitting caption to post by saying, ‘Eid Mubarak to everyone around the world.’ Rashid was decked in traditional green attire.
Meanwhile, Shami celebrated Bakri Eid with his family. The fast bowler uploaded two pictures on his Instagram stories and wished everyone a blessed Eid-ul-Adha. While Shami is currently enjoying his break in London, Rashid is in UAE.
Irfan Pathan also took to Instagram to wish everyone Eid-ul-Adha. Irfan was decked in brown kurta and gave a fitting caption saying, “Some Eid are different… Eid Mubarak to you all. Have a great one #eid“

Mohammed Shami: Mohammed Shami’s wish granted by Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma
A lot of eyebrows were raised when Mohammed Shami was not included during India’s tour of West Indies for ODI and Test squads. Right from Sunil Gavaskar to Wasim Jaffer, many felt Shami should be in the team as he gets better and better when he plays more. However, the pacer himself wanted a break ahead of the grueling season, which sees India play the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.
Shami’s one wish was granted by head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma. The 32-year-old will now get an extended break and will be raring to go for Asia Cup. It is still not clear whether Shami will play during the Ireland series.
With only 100 days till the World Cup, India’s chances of winning a second championship at home depend on their pace attack, of which Mohammed Shami, along with Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, will be an important part. It is for this reason that India has granted Shami the respite he requested, despite there being a month between the WTC final and the opening Test in Dominica.
