CWC Qualifier: Netherlands pulled off the biggest ever win in the super over in the history of International cricket. Logan van Beek was the man for Netherlands as he scored 30 runs in the Super Over after they produced a phenomenal chase of 374 to finish the regulation overs with a tie. West Indies then only managed 8 runs in the Super Over as Netherlands registered a 22-run victory.
Logan van Beek initially scored 28 off 14 balls in the regulation overs to help Netherlands manage a tie. Then batting first in the Super Over he managed to hit boundaries off every ball.
Facing Jason Holder, he started the over by hitting a four off a low full toss towards deep midwicket. Holder missed another yorker and Beek then deposited a low full-toss over long-on fence for a maximum.
He then hit a short ball towards the deep mid-wicket In the next delivery, he hit another huge six over long on to get 20 off the four balls. He continued his outrageous hitting by depositing a ball on the slot deep into the deep-midwicket fence. With 26 scored off the five balls, Holder fired another short-pitched delivery and van Beek hit it towards deep-midwicket fence to set a 31 run target for the Windies.
Logan van Beek put on an one-man show in the match. After doing his job with the bat, he took on the responsibility of defending the score with the ball. He started off by conceding a huge six as Johnson Charles hit him over deep backward square-leg fence.
He however conceded just two runs off the next two deliveries to ensure a victory for his team. His heroics for the day however came to an end after he picked up two successive wickets to pull off a thumping win.
During the West Indies innings, an imperious ton from Pooran, along with crucial knocks from Brandon King, Johnson Charles, Shai Hope and Keemo Paul, helped West Indies post a solid total against Netherlands.
