Lionel Messi & Inter Miami fan THROWS away GOAT banner after travelling 1200 miles

An Inter Miami and Lionel Messi fan travelled 1200 miles to see Messi make debut against Philadelphia Union with a GOAT banner. Disappointed, by not seeing him, the young fan throws away the banner.

Lionel Messi: Leaving PSG, Leo Messi joined the MLS club Inter Miami only a few weeks ago. After playing for Argentina a few days ago, he went on holiday. Then Messi came back to Argentina to play in tribute matches for Maxi Rodriguez and Juan Roman Riquelme. Following this, Messi is set to spend his holidays and debut for Inter Miami on July 21. However, one fan had some misinformation and travelled 1200 miles to see Messi play. He was visibly disappointed when he understood it was not happening that day.

Since Lionel Messi joined the MLS side Inter Miami, fans in the United States have been in an uproar to watch the player live. Inter Miami’s ticket prices have surged and yet, fans are still relentless. The club’s managing owner Jorge Mas came out a few days ago and said that Messi will make his debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul. However, many fans still don’t know the date and are expecting to see the Argentine play for their club sooner than that.

A similar fan travelled 1200 miles to see Inter Miami play against Philadelphia Union. However, the young fan travelled such a distance thinking that he would see his favourite player make his debut. He even had a banner with him that read, “I travelled 1,200 miles to see the GOAT”. When his team lost 4-1 to Philadelphia Union and he did not see Messi make his debut, he was visibly upset. Somewhere during the match, a camera panned towards him and showed the fan’s expression.

The young fan was upset and threw away the GOAT banner in disappointment. While the fan was expecting Lionel Messi in Philadelphia to play in his team’s colour, Messi was actually in Argentina playing against Newell’s Old Boys. It was a tribute match for former Argentina player Maxi Rodriguez. The match was held between the Argentina team against Messi’s childhood team, Newell’s Old Boys. The match was held on his 36th birthday on June 24. Messi seems to have celebrated the match with a hattrick against Newell’s.

After the season ended, Messi flew straight to China for Argentina’s match against Australia. They had another match against Indonesia, but Messi was let go to celebrate holiday. After spending a few days with family, he flew to Argentina to play the Maxi Rodriguez farewell match. Next, he will play another match for the same Argentina team against Boca Juniors. This match will be a tribute to the former Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme. It is set to be played within the next few days.

After Riquelme’s farewell match, Leo Messi will finally leave for his holiday. He will then move to the United States to start preparing for his Inter Miami debut. His debut date is finalised near the end of next month and it seems that he is set to focus seriously on his career in MLS.

They are sitting in the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference table in 15th place. If Messi wants to win a trophy with them, he will have a tough road ahead. Although, he will have his former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets by his side to help him in the quest.
