Virat Kohli: Ishant Sharma – Everyone speaks about Virat Kohli’s character when he scored a match-winning knock for Delhi in Ranji cricket after his father passed away. While it has been over a decade, Kohli’s India and Delhi teammate Ishant Sharma has revealed that the teenager was alone and said by the unexpected news. However, Kohli was determined to not let his emotions take over and helped Delhi win the game.

Ishant Sharma said, “The day Virat Kohli’s father passed away, he was alone & sad, didn’t knew how to react but then he batted & won the game when he was just 17 years – till today I don’t understand how, if that happens to me, I would not have been gone to ground”. [BeerBiceps YT]

Ishant has known Kohli since his Under 17 days. The duo have gone on to represent India and share a very close bond. The fast bowler has also revealed that he has seen Kohli’s all phases, and his transformation is massive. Ishant also recalled the RCB superstar’s party phase when he partied all night, and yet managed to score a scintillating 250 the next day during Under-19 cricket.

“I have seen all his phases. From party to tattoo, fitness freak to top performer, he has made a massive transformation in his career. He was fond of parties, and during a tournament in Kolkata, he went partying the whole night but scored 250 the next day. He was unbeaten the previous day, and we were representing Delhi in U-19 cricket,” Ishant Sharma added.

After finishing the WTC final, Kohli is currently enjoying his break with his family in London. The 35-year-old has been selected for Test and ODI squads for the West Indies tour. It is still not clear whether Kohli will play in the five-match T20 series.
