Shubman Gill: Yashavsi Jaiswal – While BCCI selectors made a bold call to include Yashavsi Jaiswal in the Test team for the West Indies tour, the question remains where the southpaw will bat if selected in the playing XI. With Cheteshwar Pujara snubbed from the Test team, BCCI selectors are vying Jaiswal to bat at the number three position. Shubman Gill in all likelihood, will continue to open alongside Rohit Sharma.
While Jaiswal has played predominantly as an opener in First-Class cricket for Mumbai, according to Indian Express reports, the southpaw will bat at number three. With Gill showing sublime as an opening batter in all the formats, number three is the only position for Jaiswal to fit in.
