” People started to treat me differently ” Lionel Messi opens up on HARSH treatment during PSG stint

Following his transfer to Inter Miami, Lionel Messi has recently opened up about his rapport with the supporters of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). In the latter stages of his tenure at the club, Messi frequently experienced the displeasure and criticism of the fans.

After completing his move to Inter Miami, Lionel Messi has recently shared his thoughts on his relationship with the fans of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Towards the end of his time at the club, Messi often faced criticism and was hurled with boos from the fans. Messi is set to make his debut against Cruz Azul next month.

Messi told RMC Sport: “At first it was great, I received a lot of encouragement as I’ve often said, but then people started to treat me differently, some of the Paris fans. The majority, on the other hand, treated me as well as they did at the start. “

Messi takes dig at PSG, advises Mbappe to ‘LEAVE’ for this club

After returning from a two-week suspension for visiting Saudi Arabia, Messi was jeered by some PSG fans. It prompted the World Cup winner’s teammate Marquinhos and then-manager Christophe Galtier to defend him.

He has maintained that there was a group of supporters who just couldn’t support him. However, he has noted that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have also endured similar treatment, with the latter being the object of a complaint in the 2022–2023 season.

“There was a rift with a large section of the Paris crowd. Of course, it wasn’t my intention. But these are things that have already happened with Mbappé and Neymar too, it’s their way of doing things. But I still remember all those people who supported me, as they did at the start.”

For the dominant Ligue 1 team, Lionel Messi had 75 games, making 32 goals and 35 assists. With the team, he took home three medals, including two Ligue 1 championships.

Messi was unable to assist PSG in achieving their ultimate objective because they failed to win the Champions League while he was a member of the team, despite the fact that he won two Ligue 1 championships before his contract expired.

However, the Argentinean’s stint was not totally well received by the fans, as evidenced by their gesture. At the end of his stay in the French city, Messi was frequently booed by supporters.
