Andre Onana Transfer: David De Gea has only a few days left on his contract for Manchester United. Coach Erik Ten Hag has different plans for the squad. Hence, there is a very little chance that Man United will be renewing his contract. The Red Devils are already looking for his replacements in the form of Andre Onana from Internazionale. They have now received a boost in their search as Inter are reportedly looking for replacements of their own. This could mean that they are ready to sell their first choice goalkeeper Onana.
Manchester United have targeted Andre Onana as the replacement of David De Gea. They still have not received any news regarding Onana from Internazionale. However, as per reports, Inter have already started to look for Onana’s replacements.
Apparently, they have set their target to Yann Sommer who made a move to Bayern Munich at the start of this year. They are also looking for Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia. There was always a greater chance that Inter would have to sell the player to bring in some much-needed cash.

Additionally, this move from the Serie A club could indicate that they are getting ready to sell their first-choice goalkeeper after all. However in terms of the English Premier League club, the scenes are a bit dire.
With talks ongoing with David de Gea, the Spanish goalie is contracted with the Red Devils till the 30th of June, following which he will be a free agent. As a result, Manchester United didn’t include De Gea in their Retained Players list.
Reports in England claim that there is still quite a distance in negotiations between the club and the player. Now with a chance that De Gea doesn’t sign a new and reduced contract with the Reds, then Erik Ten Hag will have to look for other options and that is where Inter’s Andre Onana fits in.
United’s goalkeeper woes continue to haunt the club. David de Gea has been the go to custodian for the Manchester giants, however his poor mistakes, leading to costly mistakes have infuriated the fans for a long time. On the other hand, critics continue to blame the Spanish goalie for his old schooled style of playing.
David de Gea is a traditional shot stopper, however in the Modern times, the game has changed. In modern day football, teams prefer playing out from the back where the goalie becomes the first person to initiate the attacking move. David de Gea’s poor distribution skills and off the ball movements fail to make a sweeper keeper.

As for Andre Onana, that is not the case. He is a good goalie who is strong with his shot stopping skills and equally good as a sweeper keeper. Moreover, Onana has a strong link with Ten Hag. The Cameroonian goalie previously spent 6 years at Ajax and had been under the tutelage from 2017.
Irrespective of whether De Gea signs an extension or not, Manchester United are keen to get their hands on Onana and land him at Old Trafford. As far as the backup goes, Dean Henderson who is on loan at Nottingham Forest, is keen on making the move permanent after having a fall out with the Reds back last summer.
