PFL: For most growing organizations — let alone sports leagues, five years is barely enough time to make a dent in the industry. For the Professional Fighters League (PFL) however, five years has been enough not only to become the fastest-growing sports league in the world but it’s also been enough to become the number-two mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion in the world.  The PFL Is The No. 2 MMA Company

With a unique true sports format and stacked roster of fighters, the PFL has produced electrifying fights and memorable moments season after season. Moreover, the league has experienced an unprecedented surge in viewership across multiple platforms, propelling them to the forefront and surpassing traditional sports giants while redefining the landscape of combat sports.

For years, the PFL has boldly claimed to be the fastest growing sports league in the world, and that claim rings true now more than ever, as the league has posted an impressive 45% increase in viewership in both linear and streaming platforms. Now on its fifth season, the league’s popularity is at an all-time high thanks to an exciting format and a perennially-loaded cast of fighters, which has proven to be the perfect combination for must-see action, both on television and on digital streaming.

The five-year old fight league, in fact, has already surpassed America’s favorite pastime on cable. The PFL has surpassed Major League Baseball (MLB) in cable viewership, which is an impressive feat considering that the league — and the sport of MMA are relatively young compared to a traditional sport and league such as baseball and the MLB. This is nothing but a testament to the quality of the product that the PFL has continued to put out each and every season.

Compared to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) — it’s more seasoned counterpart — the PFL has also churned out impressive viewership marks. On a per-event basis, the PFL commands a staggering 40% of the viewership of the UFC, which has been in business for three decades. As the clear-cut number two MMA promotion in the world, the PFL’s viewership on a per-event basis is three-times larger than that of the industry’s third-biggest outfit, which likely has also been in business longer than the PFL. In short, the PFL has established itself as a top dog in the MMA industry in just half a decade.

What the PFL has been able to accomplish in just five years is nothing short of remarkable, given that the MMA industry is highly-aggressive. The PFL continues to grow as an organization as well. This year, the league successfully launched PFL Europe, and will be launching the PFL Middle East and North Africa (MENA) League next year. Asia and Africa are also in the pipeline for the PFL in terms of expansion, all with the goal of becoming the undisputed Champions League of the sport of MMA.

As the league continues to push boundaries and captivate fans with its innovative approach, the future looks incredibly bright for the PFL, and all of this is just the tip of the iceberg. Follow InsideSport on GOOGLE NEWS /  For <MMA News updates with InsideSport.IN
