Marvin Vettori Is All Set To Take On Jared Cannonier

Marvin Vettori appears refreshed and recharged ahead of his highly anticipated middleweight bout against Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night. “The Italian Dream” recently made the decision to change up his training and moved his camp to Las Vegas, and he says it has made a big difference in his preparation and mindset.

He stated to UFC, “I just felt like I needed different stimulus, let’s say,” Vettori said.  “I knew Vegas was the next option because of bunch of reasons. Good sparring partners, good coaches. The (UFC Performance Institute) … I think it was the right move. I’m much more relaxed. I have time to do a lot of things that before I didn’t have the time to do.”

The move to Las Vegas and the UFC PI has allowed Vettori more time to focus on his training without distractions. He has taken advantage of the world-class facilities and coaching available at the UFC PI, as well as working with some of the top sparring partners in MMA. As a result, Vettori says he is feeling more at ease and confident heading into the showdown with Cannonier.

Vettori has lost two big bouts in his last four matches. However, he is looking for a signature win over a top contender to solidify his standing in the middleweight division. A win over Cannonier, who is currently ranked #4 in the official UFC middleweight rankings, would be a huge step towards a title shot for Vettori.

Both fighters will be hungry to make a statement in what promises to be an entertaining scrap between two of the best strikers in the middleweight division. With Vettori firing on all cylinders in his new Las Vegas home, the Italian could be poised to pull off the upset against the heavy-handed Cannonier.
