The BCCI won’t respond hastily to their defeat to Australia in the World Test Championship final (WTC Final 2023). The two-Test series against the West Indies will not see any significant adjustments. But one thing is for sure the new blood like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad are part of Indian Test Team plans moving forward.
Starting on July 12, the Test team, which is captained by Rohit Sharma, will play two Test matches in Trinidad and Dominica.
For the Border Gavaskar series in Australia—India’s final assignment of the 2023–2025 WTC cycle—the selectors seek to draught a side with a balance of youth and experience as per Indian Express. As players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit, and Virat Kohli are all in the same age range.

The future plans for the Test team include Yashasvi Jaiswal of Mumbai and Ruturaj Gaikwad of Maharashtra. The pair might have to wait for a space, though.
This changeover will take place after the West Indies series, and depending on how the established batters are playing, only one spot at a time. After the two Tests in the West Indies, South Africa will play India in the longest format in December.
Since there will be over five months between the two tours and no first-class cricket played during that time, India intends to remain with their veteran batsmen for the time being.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad, two in-form openers, were both chosen by the selectors for the West Zone team for the Duleep Trophy, which will begin on June 28 in Bengaluru.

Talking about Ruturaj Gaikwad, he is currently playing in the Maharastra Premier League 2023 (MPL 2023) for Pune’s side.
Ruturaj became the Chennai Super Kings’ second-highest run-scorer earlier this year. His outstanding batting display was crucial in helping MS Dhoni’s team win their fifth IPL championship.
Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 590 runs this season, averaging 42.14 in 16 games. In the IPL, he had a striking rate of an amazing 147.50. Gaikwad also scored four half century during the competition.
In a T20I match against Sri Lanka in July 2021, Ruturaj Gaikwad made his debut in international cricket. He has played for India thus far in nine T20Is and one ODI. In October 2022, Gaikwad faced South Africa in his only ODI game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 625 runs and 164 strike rate in the IPL 2023 have made him the hot topic of the town.
Yashasvi Jaiswal had a spectacular season, even when using conventional criteria. He was the leader for the Rajasthan Royals in terms of runs (625), average (48.08), fifty-plus scores (six), fours (82), sixes (26).
The fastest fifty in the IPL was hit by him against the Kolkata Knight Riders, and his strike rate of 164 was the highest among Rajasthan players who faced 100 balls.
