LKK vs NRK Highlights: G Ajitesh slams 112, Nellai Royal Kings defeat Lyca Kovai Kings in TNPL 2023

G Ajitesh slammed an unbeaten 112 as Nellai Royal Kings register second successive victory in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023. The 20-year old's knock helped Nellai chase 182 against Lyca Kovai Kings at Ramakrishna College Ground in Coimbatore on Friday, 16th June 2023.

Earlier, Sai Sudharsan slammed an unbeaten 90 for Lyca Kovai Kings, registering his second successive fifty in the tournament.

After opting to bowl first, Nellai Royal Kings picked up an early wicket in the second over of the innings with Sonu Yadav dismissing B Sachin for a nought. Sai Sudharsan then joined Suresh Kumar in the middle. The duo went on to share a 62-run stand for the second wicket.

The partnership was broken by pacer M Poiyamozhi in the ninth over of the innings. Suresh succumbed to a slower delivery from the bowler as he departed scoring 33 off 23 balls. Sai Sudharsan continued his run-scoring spree and reached his half-century off 35 deliveries.

Chasing 182, Nellai Royal Kings skipper Arun Karthik departed in the very first over. After the skipper early, G Ajitesh came in to bat and stitched together 50-run stand for the side.

LKK competed in the season opener of the tournament against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans as they completed a thumping victory over their opponents. Kovai Kings emerged victorious by 70 runs in that game. On the other hand, Nellai Royal Kings also got off to a good start to the competition, as they completed a brilliant six-wicket win against Siechem Madurai Panthers.
