GT20 Canada: Legendary West Indies batter Chris Gayle and former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will both feature in the third season of the Global T20 Canada. Gayle will play for the newcomers Mississauga Panthers, while Harbhajan was picked by the Brampton Wolves during the player auction conducted on Tuesday. The third season of the tournament is scheduled to take place from July 20 to August 6.

After a gap of three years due to COVID, Global T20 Canada is back for third edition, giving cricket fans in Canada the chance to once more anticipate watching thrilling matches in their own backyard that will include legendary cricket figures.
The cricket extravaganza will return to Brampton, Ontario, this year with six teams. Toronto Nationals, Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers, Vancouver Knights, as well as the two new teams this season—Surrey Jaguars and Mississauga Panthers—will compete in the tournament.
Over the course of 18 days, the 6 franchises will play 25 matches in the tournament. Famous players from earlier editions of the tournament have included Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Brendon McCullum, among others.
Each squad will include 16 players from full and ICC Associate Member Nations. Six international players, including two marquee stars, four players from Associate Nations, and six Canadians will make up these squads, ensuring a vibrant and action-packed cricket festival.
The Global T20 Canada is a crucial element in the growth and marketing of cricket in Canada and North America, especially since Canada regained its ODI status earlier this year. The tournament will begin on July 20 and last through August 6.
