RCB young sensation Shreyanka Patil wreaked havoc on an inexperienced Hong Kong side, taking 5 wickets and giving away just 2 runs. The all-rounder led the Indian U-23 women’s team to a resounding nine-wicket victory in the opening match of the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup.
The 20-year-old Shreyanka, who had earlier impressed during the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), delivered a clinical performance. Hong Kong were eventually bowled out for a mere 34 runs in 14 overs. Hong Kong opener, Mariko Hill, was the top scorer for the side with 14 runs off 19 balls.
Apart from Shreyanka, other spinners also stood tall for the side. While Mannat Kashyap picked up 2 wickets for just 2 runs. leg-spinner Parshavi Chopra claimed 2 wickets for 12 runs.
Chasing a modest target, the Indian team comfortably reached the target in just 5.2 overs. Gongadi Trisha scored an unbeaten 19 runs to guide India to victory with nine wickets to spare.
India will next face Nepal on June 15 at Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok in Hong Kong.
