On June 5, 2023, Cody Rhodes appeared as a special guest on The Miz TV. During the conversation, The Miz called out Dominik Mysterio as the surprise guest. Dominik came out with Rhea Ripley and a war of words began between Dominik and Cody. However, Dominik then pretended to leave the ring, but instead came back and slapped Cody Rhodes.
This week, on the June 12th episode of Monday Night Raw, Cody Rhodes came out and challenged Dominik Mysterio to a match at WWE Money in the Bank 2023.
