Indonesia Open will be the third successive tournament in the Asian leg of the BWF Tour this season. It will be the third Super 1000 tournament in the tour this year. Indonesia Open will get underway on Tuesday, 13th June 2023.

Indonesia Open will get underway on Tuesday, 13th June 2023. World No.1 Viktor Axelsen is all set to return to the tour after the Swiss Open in March. He will be the top seed in the tournament. The tournament is also set to feature big names like Anthony Ginting, Akane Yamaguchi, An Se Young, Tai Tzu Ying. HS Prannoy and Men’s Doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are the only seeded Indians in the tournament.

Seventh seed HS Prannoy is the only seeded Indian Men’s Singles player in the tournament. The Malaysian Masters champion will be aiming to continue his good show this year. Prannoy is in the second quarter in the tournament. He will begin his campaign by facing Kenta Nishimoto in the first round. Third seed Kodai Naraoka is also in this quarter.

Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen are present in the same quarter. While Srikanth begins his campaign against Lu Guangzhu, Lakshya Sen will face eighth seed Lee Zii Jia in the first round. Both the players are likely to face each other in the second round.

PV Sindhu will face Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the first round. Sindhu faced the Indonesian twice this year and lost both the matches. She is aiming for a revenge. SIndhu is entering the tournament after bowing out from the first round at Thailand Open last week. SIndhu is present in the quarter that also has third seed Tai Tzu Ying and sixth seed Carolina Marin.

Saina Nehwal will face seventh seed Wang Zhi Yi in the first round of the tournament. Unseeded Saina Nehwal is present in the third quarter of the draw. Fourth seed Chen Yufei is also present in the same quarter.

Aakarshi Kashyap is in the final quarter of the draw. She begins her campaign by taking on An Se Young in the first round.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are the seventh seed in the tournament. Last week at the Thailand Open, they suffered first round exit. They now eye a good show at Indonesia. The Indian pair will be facing Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo. The Indian pair are present in the first quarter that also has top seeds Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Ardianto.

Unseeded MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila will face eighth seeded Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi in the first round. They last played at the Thailand Open, where they bowed out from the second round.

Women’s Doubles

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand are the only Indian duo in the Women’s Doubles. The unseeded pair will face Japan’s Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi in the first round.

If they advance to the second round, they are likely to set up clash against fifth seeded Lee So-hee and Baek Ha-na. World No.1 Chinese pair Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan are also in the same quarter.
