On the fifth and final day of the game, there will likely be sporadic rain, which may play spoilsport. According to weather.com, Sunday morning is expected to be warm with highs of 28°C and a 50% chance of rain. Not to be forgotten is the UK MeT department’s Yellow Thunderstorm Warning for Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. However, the good news is that ICC has reserved a day in case a sizable chunk of the remaining match is disrupted.

India 280 runs away from historic win

Day 4 of the India vs. Australia WTC Final was another thrilling affiar, with team India 280 runs away from a historic victory. India took the first wicket of the day as Umesh Yadav removed Marnus Labuschagne for 41. Cameron Green soon departed as well and Alex Carey and the tail-enders kept scoring critical runs. Pat Cummins then declared the innings at 270-8 and give India a daunting 444-run target in the fourth innings.

The Men in Blue had a strong start with a 41-run partnership in seven overs before Shubman Gill was out on a contentious catch. Then, after adding 31 runs together, Chestashwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma were both quickly despatched, bringing in Virat Kohli and then Ajinkya Rahane. Day 4 finished with a score of 164-3 in 40 overs thanks to the Kohli-Rahane partnership, which saved India from a mini-collapse.
