He has been at the French club and we have seen these rumors every year since 2017. This summer though, it feels as though something is different. By apparently starting negotiations to purchase Neymar, Chelsea has supposedly gotten the jump on Manchester United. Considering the exodus of legends from PSG, Newcastle is also interested in the Brazil striker. Definitely leaving the French giants are Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
Despite beating Lens to defend the Ligue 1 title on Tuesday, PSG fired manager Christophe Galtier. As the Parisians prepare for a significant summer shake-up, Neymar is the newest superstar who is willing to move on.
His contract has two years still to run, with the possibility of an additional year. Therefore, Chelsea would still have to spend money to bring Neymar and his former PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino back together at Stamford Bridge.
Neymar interested in Man United?
It was rumored that the 31-year-old would want to transfer to Old Trafford. But Le10sport say Chelsea officials are showing their strong backing for Pochettino by opening negotiations over a mega move.
Todd Boehly seems to be backing Poch in the Transfer window this summer by the looks of things. It is also rumored that Chelsea has pipped Arsenal for the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
Pep Guardiola interested in Neymar?
Reports say that Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola gave Neymar a call to find out his intentions with regard to a move away from PSG this summer.
According to sources, Pep Guardiola called Neymar to ask about his plans before the transfer season. This summer, Neymar’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is uncertain. An injury ended the forward’s season early, and he has angered the team with some of his actions.
It also seems as though all the bridges have been broken between PSG fans and Neymar. At the start of May, outside the team’s headquarters, a group of supporters was overheard urging the club’s board to step down. This also then included another video that showed a different group of fans visiting Neymar’s house and pleading with him to quit the team.
If a player of Neymar’s caliber were to move to the Premier League, the League would receive another major boost as more people would tune in as they would like to see the Brazilian weave his samba magic in England.
