Real Madrid have already agreed personally on terms with Jude Bellingham. The only thing left for Madrid is agreeing terms with Borussia Dortmund. They were ready to ask €150 million at one time, but have decreased the amount. Now they are ready to ask for at least €120 million. On this matter, Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund sporting director said “The hoped-for €150m will not be there because Bellingham only has two years of his contract remaining. Discussions between all parties are respectful. Real Madrid and Dortmund have very good relations.”
Dortmund will be asking for a base price of €120 million. Dortmund director Kehl has agreed that he will be a tough negotiator for the club. Real Madrid might be negotiating for a lower base price, but Kehl will not agree easily. Madrid will also have to pay add-ons to that base amount. Kehl proved to be a force when he negotiated with Barcelona for Ousmane Dembele and with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho. However, it is sure that the two clubs are ready to agree on terms. Hence, sooner rather than later, a deal between the two will be finalised.
As per reports, Dortmund will be spending two-thirds of the fee they get from the sale to acquire their targets in this summer transfer window. They have currently targeted Edson Alvarez from Ajax. While the Mexican is also a midfielder, he has more defensive skills. Hence, Dortmund are not targeting him as Bellingham’s replacement. The three other players ready to leave the club along with Bellingham are Thorgan Hazard who joined PSV in January on loan, Mahmoud Dahoud, and Raphael Guerreiro. Borussia Dortmund will spend the fee to replace these players as well.
Karim Benzema has left Real Madrid and is joining the Saudi club Al-Ittihad. Some other players that are leaving the club are Eden Hazard, Mariano Diaz, Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, and Alvaro Odriozola. Hence, they will be looking to replace the vacant positions. Jude Bellingham will surely be a regular starter for the Spanish side. However, Real Madrid will need a striker as Benzema’s replacement. Hence, they have targeted Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane. However, Spurs will also be asking over €100 million. Hence, it will turn out to be one costly transfer window for Madrid.
