Gujarat Titans (GT) left-arm pacer Yash Dayal came under fire for a controversial post on his Instagram account. Dayal posted a controversial religious story on his account on Monday that has stirred tension online. Dayal has since deleted the story from this social media account and is now claiming that his official Instagram handle was hacked. Subsequently, Dayal posted an apology on his Instagram account, which has since gone viral as well.
Dayal represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and also played for India A last year. He is, however, best known for being hit for five consecutive sixes in the last over of an IPL match by KKR’s Rinku Singh.

After the apology he made on his Instagram account was criticised, Gujarat Titans PR took matters into their own hands and released an official statement on their and Yash Dayal’s behalf. In the statement, Dayal claimed that he had filed an official complaint with Instagram authorities after his official account was hacked.
“There were two stories posted on my Insta handle today — both of which weren’t done by me. I have reported the matter to authorities as I believe my account is being accessed by someone else and used for posting. I am trying to regain full control of my Instagram account. I respect all communities and the picture shared today does not reveal my true beliefs,” the statement shared by Dayal and the Gujarat Titans to the media read.
