Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is in his dream stint in Formula 1. After winning two consecutive titles, he is well on his way to take the third title this season as well. His latest win at Monaco GP saw him consolidate his championship lead by 39 points over teammate Sergio Perez. However, the Dutchman is not so sure his F1 future after his contract expiration with the Red Bull in 2028, as he has reiterated before as well. Follow Formula 1 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Verstappen joined the Milton-Keynes team as a 17 year old in 2016. Since then, the wunderkind has achieved unprecedented success with the team. He recently surpassed most wins record for Red Bull, surpassing 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Not just that, if he stays on in such impeccable form, the Dutchman is expected to break every glass ceiling the sport has to offer within the next few seasons.

Max is currently in a extensive and rewarding deal with the team. It is a love affair like none other, with the team offering him a dominant car and his reciprocating with unhinged success. Owing to his relentless, strong-headed driving, Red Bull achieved their first constructors’ title after 9 years. Taking everything into consideration, changing schedules and hectic calendars are subtly capable of driving the Dutchman away.

Lack Of Motivation Can Make Max Verstappen quit

Talking about his stint and future in F1, Max discussed range of reservations in the back of his head about continuing as an F1 driver. Though he made it categorically clear that he has a knack for racing, other that Formula 1, and can see himself doing those in future. However, with increase of sprint races and all other new inclusions in the F1 calendar, he is questioning if being a F1 driver still floats his boat.

“I know that I will be 31 when it’s the end of my contract. At that point already I will have been in F1 a very long time and it’s a lot of work. It’s travelling a lot, not only the races but in between you’re travelling to the factory, you have marketing commitments and I’m really a person who loves to be at home,” said Verstappen as reported by skysports.

“I like to be competitive, and I like to win but if you can’t fully motivate yourself to get to every race, then that’s the point you have to question yourself, ‘do you really want to continue?'” added the Red Bull man.

Moreover, he also added that he wants to compete in Le Mans and other 24-hour races as well. For now, as it stands, there is still a decent time before the Dutchman thinks for hanging his helmet. However, for him, retiring a 31 is not out of question like many other drivers on the grid. Tell us what you think about the same.
