Former Mohan Bagan football club coach Subrata Bhattacharya told India Today, “I didn’t get any SMS alert on my mobile while the transaction was made. Kolkata Police is probing the case.”
A case was filed under sections 120B and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on the complaint. According to the police, the investigating investigators examined Subrata’s bank account statement.
“I had nearly Rs 20 lakh in my bank account. But, now my account is completely empty after the fraud,” the former footballer, who is also the father-in-law of India football captain Sunil Chhetri said.
“The bank has no information regarding who took the money. As per the bank officials, the money was withdrawn from an ATM,” Subrata Bhattacharya added.

The former player said that because the bank account at issue was located at a branch in Bengal’s Park Street neighbourhood, he also reported the bank fraud case to the Park Street police station. The police also obtained from the bank authorities the CCTV video of the ATM that was used to withdraw money from his account. Examining the CCTV video is being done.
