Over the past three days, Ahmedabad’s weather hasn’t been the best. In fact, a period of rain on Friday caused the start of Qualifier 2 between GT and Mumbai Indians to be delayed. But while the grounds staff used the super soppers to offer the audience a complete game, they were unable to provide the same on Sunday to a crowded Narendra Modi Stadium.

What If Reserve Day Is Washed Out?

A thunderstorm is likely to start around 5 PM IST and linger for around an hour. However, there is no forecast of rain throughout the course of the game, suggesting that a 20-over match is possible. The restrictions regarding the cutoff time on Reserve Day are the same as they were on Sunday.

In the event of a weather delay, the game will start losing overs at 9:36 p.m. The match will thereafter grow shorter and shorter, with a five-over match having a cutoff time of 12:06 am (Tuesday). If the weather continues to delay the match, a super over can be used to decide the winner.

If play is not possible on the Reserve Day as well, the team that placed better on the points table at the conclusion of the 70-match league phase will be crowned winner. This implies that Gujarat Titans, who finished first overall after their 14 games in the league stage, would win the trophy ahead of CSK, who finished in second.
