Shubman Gill continued his purple patch as he went on to single-handedly destroy Mumbai. The 23-year-old made 129 off his team’s 233 runs in just 60 balls and hit 10 maximums and 7 boundaries on his way to his third hundred in four innings. Gill and Conway eye the Top spot for Most Fours in IPL 2023
With his seven fours each, Gill climbed from the third spot to reach the second position while Surya leapfrogged RCB captain Faf du Plessis (60 fours) and tied Virat Kohli (65 fours). While, Yashasvi Jaiswal remains at the top with his 82 fours from just 14 matches, Gill (78 fours) and Conway (73 fours) remain in an arm’s length from becoming the batter with most fours this season. With just one game left, both the opener’s focus would be on winning the IPL 2023 Final. Gill also broke into the top ten six hitters this season with his knock against MI and now holds the record for most sixes in an inning in IPL Playoffs as well.
