In the 19th minute, Kenny Tete curled in a near-post header from a Willian corner to give Fulham the lead. When David de Gea stopped Aleksandar Mitrovic’s penalty attempt seven minutes later, the London club lost the chance to increase their lead.
After the huge let-off, United regained the initiative and were rewarded as Sancho levelled with a straightforward close-range shot in the 39th minute. Later, Fred’s defense-splitting ball set up Fernandes to score the game-winning chip in the 55th minute.
The Premier League standings were unaffected by the outcome. While Fulham finished in 10th place for their first top-half finish since 2012, Erik ten Hag’s team finished the season in third position.

Moving forward, United will concentrate on the FA Cup final, which will take place the following week and include rival Manchester City. In addition to their Carabao Cup victory in February, United, who are now in third position, will be vying for their second trophy of the year.
