WTC Final 2023: India have suffered another major blow ahead of the World Test Championship Final 2023 (WTC Final 2023). India backup wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan endured a freak injury sacre in Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) Qualifier 2 while playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Gujarat Titans (GT).
Chris Jordan, who had just completed Gujarat’s 16th over, was putting on his cap when Ishan Kishan, who was moving sides, collided with him. Jordan’s elbow during the collision struck Ishan in the left eye. The physio was summoned, and the wicketkeeper eventually left the field after a brief stoppage in the game.

Rohit claimed he was unsure of what caused Ishan Kishan’s bizarre eye injury.
Between overs, Ishan and Chris Jordan were passing each other when they collided. Chris Jordan, an English cricketer of Barbadian descent, was cleaning his face with a towel and failed to notice the Indian wicketkeeper. Ishan was struck squarely in the left eye area by Jordan’s left elbow.
“We did not expect that, he had a bit of a concussion, I don’t know how it happened,” Rohit said.
The strange accident prevented Rohit Sharma from opening with Ishan, and MI was later obliged to bat Vishnu in his place.
Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat are the only designated wicketkeepers in India WTC squad. Son an injury to Ishan Kishan and absence of KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant can be a big blow to Indian side.
