Ahead of the match, the Indian players relived their experience and how the team rose to the occasion to go on and reach the finals. Rohit Sharma has gone on to emphasize that the job is not done. India will have to face Australia and get the best result in the much-coveted finals.

“Lot of players have played in that cycle and different individuals have stepped up, put in the performances that we were looking for from the individual,” Rohit Sharma said.

“To be standing here and knowing we have qualified for the finals feels really great because all the efforts you put in for the last two years finally has come to the fore. Obviously the job is not yet done, we have to go out there and get the best result for us in the final.”

“After the World Test Championship final in Southampton, we quickly had to regroup and get ready for the next cycle. I thought in that cycle we played some really tough cricket. We were challenged a lot of times and I thought to come out of that was obviously going to take a lot of character from everyone, not just a few individuals,” Rohit concluded.

“Unfortunately we lost against New Zealand but this time we are very well prepared against Australia. We have been very great competitors,” said Cheteshwar Pujara.
