IND vs BAN: India Women Cricket Team will tour Bangladesh for limited-over series next month (June). The Indian women’s cricket team will play for the first time since their semifinal defeat by Australia at the ICC Women’s World Cup in Cape Town on February 23.
Hrishikesh Kanitkar, the squad’s batting coach, is set to remain in command of the team for the Bangladesh tour while the BCCI’s search for a new head coach for the Indian women’s team is still ongoing.
“The tour will comprise three ODIs, followed by as many T20Is. The side is currently undergoing a pre-tour high-performance camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore,” a source was quoted by TOI as saying.

An India ‘A’ women’s squad will compete in a Women’s Asia Cup for developing teams in Hong Kong at the same time, in mid-June.
Since Ramesh Powar left his position as head coach in December 2022 of the Indian women’s cricket team, who advanced to the semifinal of the T20 World Cup earlier this year, has been without a head coach. Powar was transferred to the National Cricket Academy, while Hrishikesh Kanitkar from the NCA joined the women’s team as batting coach.
Despite not having a head coach, the India women’s team participated in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2023, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur was pleased with how Hrishikesh Kanitkar managed the international T20 competition.
In 2022, the Indian women overcame their sadness from not making the ODI World Cup final by reaching the Commonwealth Games final and winning the Asia Cup.
The Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, which will be played from October 19, 2023 to November 09, 2023, will mark the start of the domestic women’s cricket season.
Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Trophy, which will be played from November 24, 2023 to December 4, 2023, will come after. The Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, which will start on January 4 and end with a final on January 26, 2024, will mark the start of the new year.
