IPL 2023: This Indian Premier League 2023 season has provided breakthroughs for several uncapped players. Every team has had one or more uncapped players who have shown their mark in the biggest T20 tournament in the world. As the league stage ends, let’s take a look at some of the most promising uncapped players this year. Follow IPL 2023 LIVE updates with InsideSport.IN

Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)

Insidesport

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal set the stage alight this season with 625 runs. The young southpaw showed that he can not only play with style but also packs a punch. Jaiswal overshadowed two of the best T20 players right now: England captain Jos Buttler and his captain Sanju Samson. His 124 in the 1000th IPL game against MI will be a knock to be remembered for ages. A mammoth run scorer in domestic cricket, Jaiswal showed that he belongs in international cricket, and a call-up may be around the corner after his performance this year.

Prabhsimran Singh (Punjab Kings)

Prior to this season, Prabhsimran Singh had played a total of six games in four IPL seasons. The 22-year-old has cemented the top spot after an incredible IPL 2023 season. He ended with 358 runs, just 15 runs shy of side’s top-scorer Shikhar Dhawan. Simran struck the ball at over 150 this year and even scored his debut IPL century against the Delhi Capitals on a tricky Kotla pitch. As if that were not enough, he can keep the wickets as well.

Rinku Singh (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Insidesport

KKR’s go-to man, Rinku Singh, showed this season what he can do if given the opportunity. Rinku amassed 474 runs this season, making him the leading run scorer for his side. He did the impossible against the Gujarat Titans after taking his side home by hitting five maximums in the final over of the game to win a memorable match.

Jitesh Sharma (Punjab Kings)

“A finisher who keeps wicket, sign him up,” said fans as soon as they saw Jitesh Sharma bat. Sharma, like the former Indian wicket-keeper captain, keeps wickets and can hit the ball with massive force behind it. He ended his season with more than 300 runs and a strike rate of 156. His performance was such that Sehwag, Kumble, and Shastri want to see the Punjab Kings batter in the Indian jersey.

Tushar Deshpande (Chennai Super Kings)

Insidesport

The Mumbai pace bowler has shown his wicket-taking ability this season (20 wickets) and will only continue to improve under MS Dhoni. While he has been a tad expensive, he has shown his temperament and composure to bounce back and provide his side with key breakthroughs. His ball to dismiss Rohit Sharma is one of the deliveries of the tournament.

Nehal Wadhera (Mumbai Indians)

A talented southpaw who entered the IPL 2023 season without any prior experience of playing T20 cricket ended up being one of the finds of the tournament. An injury to Tilak Varma gave the young batter a chance, and he grabbed it with both hands. Wadhera ended the season with more than 200 runs, including two fifties and a vaunted 40 off 21 against the Gujarat Titans.

Tilak Varma (Mumbai Indians)

Insidesport

Another MI southpaw set the scene ablaze. Varma has shown his elegance, composure, and hitting ability this season. He made 274 runs in nine matches with an impressive strike rate of 158. His 84-not-out against RCB was the highlight of his season. Injury and illness caused him to miss five games, but that was enough to show the potential the young man possesses.
