Recently, a video from the press conference of UFC 260 has gone viral in which Dana White had given a hint of putting Ngannou and Jones together inside the ring.
With a convincing victory over Ciryl Gane, Jon Jones completed an incredible return to the UFC and won the vacant heavyweight title. Although it was his first heavyweight fight, he ended up winning.
Prior to UFC 285’s heavyweight championship match, Ngannou held the title. The French-Cameroonian fighter’s belt was taken away by UFC president Dana White after failed contract talks.

Ngannou tweeted this from the UFC 260 news conference where Dana suggests that after witnessing him knockout then champ Stipe Miocic, Jon Jones might want to move down to middleweight in reaction to White’s suggestion that he was dodging the current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

When Ngannou left his contract in January 2023 to become a free agent, the mixed martial arts community was astounded. The departure of one of the fans’ favourite fighters from the promotion caused them considerable sadness. Many supporters also wanted to see him take against Jones inside the Octagon. However, when the Cameroonian boxer agreed to a lucrative contract with PFL, everyone in the globe exhaled a sigh of relief. He recently tweeted a challenge to Jones.
‘The Predator’ appeared to stand taller after agreeing to a contract with the Professional Fighters League. He still has a burning desire to fight “Bones,” that much is certain.
