Arsenal TRANSFER: It has been no secret that Arsenal are trying to bring in Declan Rice from West Ham United. They are ready to pay as finely as £90 million for the brilliant midfielder. However, as per reports, West Ham will be asking for much more than that. Hence, it is absolutely possible that the transfer to Arsenal will not go through. As a second option, Arsenal are looking toward Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton, and Moises Caicedo from Brighton. Back in April this year, after Arsenal’s clash against West Ham United, their captain Declan Rice asked Martin Odegaard for a signature on an Arsenal shirt. Since then, Arsenal fans have been hoping for Rice’s transfer to Arsenal. The Gunners have shown significant interest to bring over the player and they are ready to pay handsomely for it. They are willing to pay as much as £90 million for Rice and an official offer from them could soon be reaching West Ham.

However, reportedly West Ham are ready to demand much more than that set price. They are expecting that Manchester United could be able to meet their extravagant demand for Rice. Arsenal are keeping their hopes on the fact that Rice will want to remain in London. However, if they cannot persuade the midfielder to join the ranks at Arsenal, they will be looking to bring in anyone among these three players – Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Ruben Neves from Wolves, and Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

Martin Zubimendi was one of Arsenal’s targets back in January. They were willing to pay Zubimendi’s £53 million release clause. However, that deal did not go through as Zubimendi did not want to leave the club at a point when they were doing so well. Real Sociedad are currently sitting in the 4th position in the league table and could be qualifying for the Champions League next season. Additionally, Barcelona are also looking to bring in the player as coach Xavi has called him “an extraordinary pivot”.

Ruben Neves is set to leave Wolves during this summer transfer window. He is seeking a club where he will be able to play in the Champions League. Arsenal could be a good destination for him, but Wolves will most likely sell the player to another league. Barcelona have shown interest in bringing Neves to Spain as well. There have been rumours that they will swap Ansu Fati for Ruben Neves and Wolves will even pay an additional £26.09 million to Barcelona for the youngster.

Similar to Zubimendi, Arsenal have already tried to sign Moises Caicedo in January. They were ready to pay £70 million for the talented midfielder. However, Brighton rejected the offer and Arsenal failed to sign Caicedo. The Gunners have also started transfer talks with Mason Mount from Chelsea and Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City. However, even though Mount is sure to leave Chelsea, Man City will be offering Gundogan to stay for another year. Gundogan also has interests coming from Barcelona.
