Jon Jones isn’t hesitating to mock former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who has signed an exclusive deal with PFL MMA. Having rejected an $8million offer to face ‘Bones’, Francis Ngannou’s PFL deal is considered one of the biggest contracts in recent times. Follow UFC News Updates with InsideSport.IN.
That said, Jon Jones didn’t seem to like how Ngannou is promoting himself. Francis Ngannou labeled himself as the ‘Baddest Mother F***’ in the fight game. In response, Jon Jones took shots at ‘The Predator’ on social media.
Jon Jones also compared himself to Tom Brady in one of his recent tweets and cited how Francis Ngannou’s one title defense is nothing compared to his legacy in the sport.
Jon Jones wrote, “My man wins one Super Bowl, transferred to a top arena football league, and then claims to be better than Brady. That’s what I’m hearing right now.”
Francis Ngannou held the UFC heavyweight gold for a long time before finally quitting the promotion. Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane then fought for the vacant title, which Jon Jones won in a record less than three minutes at UFC 285.
Francis Ngannou also beat Ciryl Gane in his last UFC outing via decision. Comparing both men’s performances, Jon Jones clearly takes the upper hand. However, Francis Ngannou could have been a perfect matchup for Jon Jones at heavyweight.
Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou Remains a Fantasy Fight
Dana White seemingly tried his best to retain Francis Ngannou in the UFC. Nevertheless, ‘The Predator’ didn’t settle down for less than anything he wanted, other than the financial levels. Dana White later said that he will never entertain Francis Ngannou in the UFC ever again.
Following that, Bellator MMA, One Championship, and BKFC also failed to crack a deal with ‘The Predator’. That said, Francis Ngannou is finally in the PFL Super Fight division. He is also appointed as the Chairman of PFL Africa and a member of the PFL Global Athlete Advisory Board. On the contrary, Jon Jones remains one of the biggest PPV draws in the UFC. He has teased hanging up his MMA gloves after a super fight against Stipe Miocic.
