UFC News Round Up: Former Champion Francis Ngannou Becomes Chairman of PFL Africa

Francis Ngannou’s 2023 began on a dull note as he parted ways with the UFC following an unsuccessful contract dispute. However, his journey to find a new home was far from easy, as top combat sports organizations turned a cold shoulder to the French-Cameroonian heavyweight due to his sky-high salary demands. Even the likes of BKFC and ONE FC showed no interest in the former champion, making his future appear bleak. Follow MMA News Updates with Insidesport.IN

But Lady Luck smiled upon the heavyweight giant as the PFL came to his rescue. The New York Times reported that Ngannou had signed a “strategic partnership” with the promotion, putting an end to four months of speculation over his next move. His prayers were answered, and he not only received equity but also landed leadership roles within the organization.
