Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, emphasised that his team was concentrated on itself and on defeating the Seagulls. They appeared to lose concentration, though, when they came upon Roberto De Zerbi’s flashy costume.

Due to the unfortunate loss, Manchester City now has a chance to win the championship by defeating Chelsea on Sunday, May 21. The trophy will be going to the Etihad if the Gunners lose to Nottingham Forest the day before.

Twitter erupted with memes and banters and Arsenal subsequently gave up a huge lead to lose the Premier League race to Manchester City.

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte also joined in the twitter game, tweeting a GIF as his team move closer to the title,

One user wrote :

“Nobody cares City win the league. Literally just City fans and the press that bum them. Seeing Arsenal bottle it is superb. Their fans are the worst in the league. ‘Arteta out’ shouts incoming”

A Tottenham Hotspur fan added:

“Arsenal with the biggest bottle job in Premier League history. Forget the title, they might not even match the Spurs 16/17 points tally”

Gary Neville had previously stated that Arsenal had ‘bottled’ the Premier League title campaign after losing three straight games while rival Manchester City had won six straight.

The former Manchester United defender said on Twitter that Arsenal’s most recent league appearances had “simple errors” and the team appeared “leggy.” Twitter is flooded with images and jokes that remind people of this forecast, even if he was scorned back then.
