‘The Last Stylebender’ was tormented by Alex Pereira under the GLORY Kickboxing banner, and Alex Pereira followed the New Zealander into the UFC with the goal of winning the middleweight world championship. At UFC 281, Pereira successfully accomplished that by knocking out Adesanya in the fifth round. The Nigerian, who lives in New Zealand, claims he won’t grant the Brazilian a rematch and advises him to go to lightweight instead. However, the Brazilian has the choice of choosing a rematch with Adesanya.

After suffering his first defeat inside the Octagon a month ago, Alex Pereira is back in the gym getting ready for his next foe.

Israel Adesanya will likely turn his attention to the light heavyweight category as Alex Pereira is set on taking on the winner of the championship eliminator at UFC 290 between Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis. There is no set date or opponent for his 205-pound debut, but there are plenty of competitors ready to step up and help ‘Poatan’ into the formerly coveted weight class.
