SAFF Championship 2023: SAFF Championship Teams: India will host the SAFF Championship 2023 starting on June 21. Seven teams, including Kuwait, a team not affiliated with the SAFF, had committed to competing. The SAFF has officially received confirmation that Lebanon would accept their invitation to the tournament. For this year’s SAFF Championship, the eight participating teams are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Lebanon, and Kuwait. India has historically been a dominant force in the SAFF competition. Eight times in all, they have won the contest; the most recent occurrence was in 2021. Eight teams will participate in the competition: Maldives, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Pakistan.

The record-breaking eight-time champions of the contest, India, will host the 14th edition of the game in Bengaluru from June 21 to July 4. Four teams will be split into two groups for the eight-team SAFF Championship.

India has won eight of the competition’s 14 editions, making it the most successful nation ever. They defeated Nepal in the championship game in 2021, which was their most recent victory. To train and get this team in the greatest form possible for the AFC Asian Cup in January 2024 would be India’s primary goal in the 2023 SAFF Championship.

The Blue Tigers will resume play during the FIFA International window. In addition to competing in the Intercontinental Cup in June, Stimac’s team is getting ready for the AFC Asian Cup the following year. In the Intercontinental Cup, India, which is ranked 101 in the FIFA Rankings, will play Lebanon (99), Vanuatu (164), and Mongolia (183).
