Hamilton’s contract with the Brackley-based team is coming to an end this season. Team honcho Toto Wolff recently commented that Mercedes is adamant on putting pen to paper with their most successful driver. However, rumors have been sweeping amongst the fans about his future with the Silver Arrows. After the qualifying debacle, fans are again expecting tension to rise between the two.

Initially, it looked like a regular affair but it soon took a turn for some unexpected action. A qualifying full of thrill and twists, we saw Charles crashing and Hamilton not making a cut in Q3. Though he put in a few good laps initially, his flying lap in Q2 was just not to his potential. After the session, Lewis opened up about the strategy issues that led to a highly shocking result for him.

Lewis Hamilton blames team strategy for botched up result

In his post qualifying interview, Hamilton tried to put a finger on issues leading up to the disastrous result. “It’s just one of those days, it’s not the best. There was a couple of moments where the car was feeling half decent, I thought that maybe I’d be able to get into Q3 but at the end, they put me out behind 7 cars or something like that,” said Hamilton as per a tweet by @fiagirly.

“When I got to the last corner I was the last of the group, had to back up and lost all my temperature in the tyres so, I couldn’t do it. When I started the lap I had no grip,” he added.

After the session ended, Lewis sure was not the happiest man in the paddock and he took no efforts in hiding it. As it seems, the relationship between Hamilton and the team might be on a thin ice after this incident. However, the race is still left for the Briton to redeem himself. During the inaugural GP here in 2022, the Mercedes driver saw the chequered flag in 6th position. Later today, he will be starting 13th on the grid.
